How do I know they are
genuine producers?
Look
out for the certificate on the stall stating that the stallholder
is an "Authentic Local Producer".
This
means that the stallholders has had a visit to their premises by
an independent inspector, is on the local environmental health department
register for routine inspections, has the appropriate food hygiene
qualifications and has properly labelled food.
Some
farmer markets in Gloucestershire are now Certified by FARMA as
genuine farmers markets where you can buy direct from the prodcuer.
Look out for the sign and logo at the market.
